Hi, my name is Nicole. I’m a community college student that lives in the East Bay, California. I am 23 years old and I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. It usually varies between an editor, a graphic designer or a teacher.
I consider myself a knitter, spinner and all-around crafter. And this little space of the internet is dedicated to all things crafty and random ramblings of my life.
About four years ago, I fell in love with spinning. However, I thought it was silly to spin without being able to do anything with the yarn. Enter the obsession with knitting! I’ve been hooked since. Ironically, it took me about three years to knit with more of my handspun.
In general, I am a pretty easy going person. I love to laugh and stupid jokes are my specialty. My favorite phrase is, “YOUR FACE!”. Other hobbies include: music, photography, cooking and video games – love the Wii!
In July 2008, it was discovered that I had been growing a massive ovarian cyst and it had to be surgically removed. The experience isn’t one I’d want to repeat, but it has definitely forced me into making changes to my life for the better – which I am thankful for. Two months of Norco (pain killers) and sitting on a couch really changes your perspective on life!
Writing this sort of thing is probably my least favorite thing to do. Other than cleaning a bathroom frequented by boys who do not know how to aim (TMI? Sorry!). Speaking of which, I am the oldest of 4 – three younger brothers (22, 18, 12). Everybody drives each other crazy, without managing to kill anyone. It is pretty damn amazing! It is often said, that our family would make a great reality show.
